Recent influx of spam

  In the past couple of weeks, I have been getting a ridiculous amount of spam on my blog. Usually, it’s just random letters. I’ll get to my desk each morning and I’ll have 10+ of these messages, and it’s happening on a daily basis. I have been with WordPress for years and have not had this problem before. Thoughts?

  Let Akismet deal with it. Mark them as spam and set your notification not to bother telling you when you have spam. I almost never check mine.

  Spammers are continually changing their tactics to get around the spam filters and Akismet is continually changing their filters to catch them. It has always been that way and it always will. It’s a constant game of cat and mouse. I’ve been here 2+ years and I’ve gone through several times when a lot of spam got through but Akismet always catches up to them within a week or two.
