Recent post not responding to changes but others do, Plugins Error on Update
-
Two general problems:
1. Plugin updates (i.e. my paid-for YouTube Pro and ) are getting “Update Failed: Could not create directory.” errors.2. Two issues when editing my most recent post (http://blog.veroba.net/2018/09/20/music-simchas-2/):
a) Yoast shows an orange progress bar when populating snippet Meta description, instead of green.
b) When attempting to save by selecting “Update”, Chrome for Mac returns me to the “All Posts” page with no changes found when returning to the page, while on on Safari I get the browser error, “Safari Can’t Open The Page blog.veroba.net/wp-admin/post.php because the server unexpectedly dropped the connection…”
These issues do NOT happen when attempting to edit my other posts.I’m told that both these problems may be a matter of permissions which, since I’m only used to solving local hard drive directory problems with software, I have no idea where to start. Because of this, I cannot even load the “Health Check” plugin to possibly troubleshoot.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Howdy –
You’ll want to post this over at https://wordpress.org/support/
The site listed is running a stand alone WordPress installation which is quite different from what we do here at WordPress.com.
Those differences are outlined on this page: https://en.support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/
In addition to the general support forum you can post in the specific plugin support forums as well.

Very odd and confusing.
I originally submitted to .org, but my site is on .com. Under normal circumstances, you request support from the platform on which your site is registered.
I read the link and still don’t understand why my wordpress.com site’s problems on your platform can’t be addressed by wordpress.com and why I have to keep track of different accounts to resolve problems on one.
Part of the problem has to do with permissions and access to files and account identity, so this makes it more difficult.
Please tell me where the file directory for my WordPress.com cite can be located and how the problems can be resolved. WordPress.org has no solutions and they can’t access my site. -
http://blog.veroba.net/ is not a WordPress.com site. You can manage that site via your WordPress.com account because you have the site connected here through the Jetpack plugin, but the issues you describe are regarding the Yoast plugin and the WP-Admin All Posts page and post editor, not the WordPress.com interface, so we cannot help you in this forum.
But the site is built using the open source version of WordPress found on WordPress.org – if you scroll down to the bottom of your site and click on the Powered by WordPress text you’ll see it takes you to WordPress.org. And the site is not running on our servers, so we have no control over it.
Your site appears to be hosted by suresupport.com. That hosting provider appears to provide support for sites hosted on their servers, so perhaps try contacting them if the WordPress.org forums are unable to help you.
