Hello there,
You will need a custom design upgrade and to do the required CSS editing to remove it. -
Thanks for the advice.
I intend to move my two customers away from the .wordpress.com to their own site addresses. I guess I should include the cost of Custom Design Upgrade into the annual cost? -
The custom design upgrade your purchase from WordPress.com and any CSS editing you do is not transferable when you move content to a WordPress.org install. WordPress.com runs on wpMU (wordpress multiuser) software and it’s different than WordPress.org software. Themes by the same names are coded to run on either one or the other.

Sorry for the dumb questions but…
The two sites own their own Domain Names.
I have put together sites within WordPress.com and thought that I could go live when they are happy with design and content…then my site takes over from their old one?
I know that they will pay for domain registration ..
Am I correct?
Thanks -

No not currently.
One pays a third party to host an old site.
The other hasn’t paid this year and the domain name has become available?
Thanks -
If they are not hosted by WordPress.com you need to find answers at WordPress.ORG instead. They are two different types of WordPress.
