    Hi there,

    The Blank Canvas theme you’re using doesn’t have a sidebar. It only has a widget area in the footer.

    If you want to add those widgets there, you can do it from Appearance ->Customize ->Widgets:

    If you prefer a sidebar, there’s two options:

    1) Switch to a different theme that does offer a sidebar. But that would have to be one of our older themes as none of the newer ones designed for the block editor have a sidebar that I know of.

    2) If you’re willing to wait a bit, WordPress 5.9 that comes out in a few weeks will include the new Site Editor feature the community on WordPress.org has been working on. As part of that, you should be able to create your own sidebar on your current theme, where you can then add your widgets.
