"Recent Posts" at Bottom of Every Page
-
HI all,
Is it possible to turn off the “Recent Posts” section at the bottom of every page? I am using the 2010 theme.
(If it has anything to do with the “Recent Posts” widget, it’s not in use).
Thanks so much for your help.
Kim

You need to link to your blog when asking questions. Or, better, make your username link to your blog (Users > Personal Settings: scroll down to Account Details, paste blog URL in the Website field, click Save Changes).

I think we’re talking about two different things, though thanks for the response.
At the bottom of every page on http://friendsofdcwc.wordpress.com/, there is a section in white across the screen called “Recent Posts” which means every post is being published on every page.
I want them to be static pages, how can I change this setting?

We’re not talking about two different things. My initial response meant what it said: we don’t reply to your question without a link to the blog in question.
Your pages display that section because you have erroneously selected the showcase template for all of them. You need to edit each page and select the default template (in the Page Attributes module). The showcase template is optional, and should be reserved for one page only – normally the one you’d set as your blog front.

Gotcha. Well, I did that because the input I got from timethief earlier in the week wasn’t working:
https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/content-on-2011-theme-page-is-centered?replies=3#post-725508
On “Default,” the content on all the pages is still centered.
I want the pages to look like these:
http://friendsofdelcowomenscommission.wordpress.com/about/
(I started the blog above but stopped when I realized I couldn’t change the URL. So I started the one below instead.)
Not, like these:

Then instead of the Default template you’ll select the Sidebar template.
(The input you got was incorrect.) -
