Recent posts no longer displayed

I have a site using a custom theme and custom home page with a link in the main menu to Blog page, where recent 5 posts were displayed. Some time ago, they disappeared with the following code in their place {catlist=cat4} Also, I have a Question and answer feature where all answers for all questions disappeared, however, the answers are still in the database.
I have tried restoring old backups but no change. Where to look next for the cause?The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)
