Recent posts not showing up in share counts

The most recent posts that shows up in my shared posts list is two weeks old today. The six I have posted in the past two weeks don’t appear at all. That’s to say, it’s not that they’re showing up as zero counts. They’re just not listed at all.
I searched to see if this is a common issue at the moment, but didn’t (quickly) find any like errors. Is this a known issue? Is it perhaps linked to my using the reblog function, since the first unlisted post was a reblog? Thanks in advance!

Hi there,
Please note that the shares are not counting the official buttons and will not match the Sharing buttons or stats provided by Sharing Services like Facebook or Twitter. The only ones counted on the Total Shares page would be the ones that happen on WordPress.com.

I just reread my comment above and realized I’d written it as if it were a work exchange. (My job requires a lot of quick, direct exchanges around technical issues.) My apologies! I look forward to an answer on this non-urgent question. :)

I just realized there was one other thing that changed a few weeks back: I switched the kind of sharing icon I was using. I went from using the tiny icon only to using official share buttons. This didn’t seem pertinent until an hour or so ago, when I switched back to the tiny icons . . . and found my share counts, which had not changed at all the last couple of weeks (despite having a post Freshly Pressed!) and did not list recent posts, suddenly included my newest post. It could be coincidence, but it seemed well worth mentioning!

That does appear to be the source of the issue. Having switched back to the tiny icons, I shared a few posts by Twitter to test. They suddenly appeared on my shared posts log, though I’d previously shared a few by the “official” buttons.
These counts don’t reflect any sharing over the last couple of weeks, but hey! The posts are on the list now! :)

Thanks for letting us know! :) There are a couple things going on here:
When you use the “official” sharing buttons, we don’t count shares with those buttons in your stats. We’re only able to count posts shared with the other button styles. (That has to do with how the official buttons work — those shares will only be counted by the social media service that provides the button.)
Posts that don’t have any shares shouldn’t be included in the list (not even with a zero count). The list should only show posts that we have share counts for. Our team is looking into why those posts with zero counts are showing up there.
