Hi there,I have a free hosted blog on wordpress (livingonannette). My question is do I have the option to install plug in as an admin? I wanted to set ‘recent posts’ widget to show only posts under one category but show it on all pages. Thank you. I appreciate your help.

    Hi,
Just to be clear, you are referring to the site https://theannetteroom.wordpress.com/, correct?

My question is do I have the option to install plug in as an admin?

No. An administrator can’t install plugins on a WordPress.com site.

I wanted to set ‘recent posts’ widget to show only posts under one category but show it on all pages.

You don’t need a plugin to accomplish this. However, it can not be done with the Recent Posts widget because you can not limit the display of posts by the widget to a certain category of posts. Instead, use Display Posts Shortcode, customized to display only posts of a certain category. Example:

    [display-posts category="quotes" posts_per_page="12" include_date="true"]

This code will display the twelve most recent posts in the “quotes” category, with the date appended to the end of each title link.

Thank you very much for the help. I will try it this way. And, yes, my blog is on wordpress.com.
