recent posts: w/o title text?
-
I’m new here and I noticed that when there is no title for the entry, the text under recent posts just has the post slug number as the link. Is there any way to change this, such as the first few words of the entry? I’ve tried changing the post slug and filling out the excerpt field just to experiment but it didn’t work. Btw, I’m using the theme Unsleepable.
Thanks!

Yes, I’ve done that, but the text under Recent Posts still uses the Post Slug number when I don’t have a title.

did you check the permalink of the post itself to see if it had noted the post slug change that you did? either you tried renaming the post slug and it didn’t work, or the post slug has been changed but your sidebar hasn’t updated itself. try reloading your front page and see if the post slug is still the old one…

Sidebars are also cached, so be sure to wait an hour or so before expecting the change to show up.
BTW search engines really like titles. Without titles, your stuff is nearly invisible to them, if it matters to you.

sulz – Yes, I checked and reloaded, so I suppose the sidebar just hasn’t updated itself.
raincoaster – Okay, I’ll give it another try and wait a little bit. Thanks to the both of you!

Just an update – it didn’t work :/. It also wouldn’t work after clearing my own browser’s cache, history, etc., and also did not work on other browsers. It doesn’t really matter now since I’ve switched themes, but just wanted to update. Thanks for the help though. Really appreciate it :)
