Recent problem with line breaks

  • Unknown's avatar

    Hi!

Since the latest wordpress update that happened in the last few days, the line breaks on my blog (hosted on wordpress.com – which is why I didn’t choose a version when posting this) have gone all weird on me. I use the regular, unmodified twenty fourteen theme.

This is how it looks now: image link

I use the old editor on html mode and to get a simple space between paragraphs, I’ve had to use two <br> tags. I suspect some change in the latest update has changed how wordpress treats those tags?

So now all my posts (100+) looks awful. Was this change intentional? If so, am I really supposed to go through hundreds of posts and manually change every line break?

    I’d appreciate some help, thanks.

I am having the same problem and it is SERIOUSLY annoying. I have always done my own HTML tagging and used double line breaks between paragraphs. All of a sudden there are vast acres of white between each of my paragraphs.

I have over 400 posts between two blogs and it is going to be a major pain to have to go back and edit them all. Can you please put things back the way they were? Those of us who know HTML don’t need your help, even if it is well-meant. Just let us do our thing, please!!!!

    Thanks,
    Kat

Nobody has any idea about this?

    WordPress!!! PLEASE help us!

My blogs look ridiculous with this change. I am embarrassed to have people see them as they are. Clearly I am not alone, as Druj has noted he is having a similar problem.

At this point, the idea of having to go back and edit over 400 blog posts is so daunting that I am wondering if I might better invest the time in moving to a blog platform which is more responsive to users.

    PLEASE HELP!!!!!
