Recent problems posting images

    I’m an editorial cartoonist, and I’ve had zero problems for years on WordPress posting my images. But in the past two weeks, I have had intermittent problems uploading images after i sign in. At this point the site refuses completely.
    For a number of reasons, I normally use the text field to post my images. But even if I select ‘photo’ the upload hits a snag, with nothing posted on preview or otherwise.
    I’ve tried on a different computer with a different OS, and same thing.
    I wonder if anyone else has encountered this recently, and/or if WordPress mavens have an answer.
    (I’ve done a search on the support forum, but found nothing related to this.)

    Have you checked that you haven’t reached your upload limit? You only have 3gig space for uploads in the media library without purchasing an upgrade. If you go to the media library from the dashboard it will show you how much space you have left.

    I’m not sure what is causing this but I have responded to several threads re: this issue and have tagged them all for Staff assistance and this one as well.

    Please let me us know:
    1) Are you uploading images via the “Add media” button or by dragging/dropping images into the post?
    2) Have you tried switching to the Browser uploader option? If so, has that helped?

    Thanks for the responses.
    first question: I am only up to 60 mb on my media library.
    second question:
    1) Have used both methods in the past, both worked, neither works now.
    2) I have not tried the Browser uploader option. But just discovered that if I “Add Media” from the dashboard, the image loads and is displayed on the blog.
    Didn’t have to do it that way in the past, and it’s a circuitous pathway, but at least it works!

    update: just checked – my previous way of uploading images directly (add media and drag and drop) is working…at least as of now. So it’s likely something buggy at the WordPress server end, methinks.
