Recently Expired Domain

  Help! Our domain (artsinstitute.net) expired 6 days ago. We would like to renew it so that our students, parents, faculty, etc. can access resources and information. I need help with the process. I am not sure how to go about retrieving the domain. I was reading that there is a 10 day grace period and would like to resolve this problem immediately. Thanks!

  When a domain expires, it then goes through a process that can take several months to complete described at https://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/domain-expiration/.

  If you are in the grace period you will not have to agree to pay a redemption fee set by the domain name registrar that wordpress.COM staff cannot waive.

  Otherwise, if you want Staff to try to recover the domain for you then you will have to agree to pay the redemption fee.

  If you’re logged into the account that is associated with your expired domain, they will look up its status and get in touch with details.

  If you are not logged in under the correct username account then clear your browser cache https://en.support.wordpress.com/browser-issues/#clearing-your-browser-cache and cookies https://en.support.wordpress.com/browser-issues/#clearing-wordpress-com-cookies prior to logging into the associated account, and provide the domain URL here.

  Hi there,

  The domain, artsinstitute.net, has not expired, but it’s also not registered here.

  The domain mapping for that domain is what you need to renew. That upgrade belongs to another user on the site, inkjunkie93. Please log in as that username and you’ll be able to renew it.

  Hello @kokkieh,

  Inkjunkie93 is no longer one of our administrators. I am guessing you can see that in our settings. How can either myself or my other administrators get permission to remap the domain? Thank you very much for your help.

  I see the site owner has also contacted us and was helped with this via live chat, so I’m closing this thread as a duplicate.
