“Recently updated” posts Widgets
-
Similar to the “Most popular” posts Widgets – It would be useful to have “Recently updated” Widget showing posts that have been updated since the original publication. Posts are marked updated with a selection choice ‘Updated’ for the ‘Status’ attribute (current choices: Scheduled, Pending Review, Draft).
This feature request is to provide Alerts for old posts, when they are updated/revised with fresh/additional content.
It would make sense to enable ‘Publicize’ (selectable) for these ‘Updated’ posts as well.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

As a workaround, you can make your own and manually update it when you make a change to a post.
Depending on how they would do this though it could be a headache for me since sometimes I edit a post 5 or 6 times right after publishing it for typos and small wording changes I didn’t catch before publishing the post. It could mean that I would have the same post listed 5 times in the “recently updated” widget.

That is the reason to avoid automatic inclusion in the “Recently updated” Widget, but make the inclusion a selection using the ‘Status’ attribute. So that a post gets included in the “Recently updated” Widget only when you have “real content changes”, and not minor typos, etc.

Not a option here at this time. The workaround is the only thing that can be done right now.
You are free to suggest it directly to staff (which will mean your suggestion is more likely to be logged into the feature request database. No one knows if staff even looks at the ideas forum. They say they do, but there is no real evidence.
The workaround isn’t that difficult. It is just a text link.
