Recipe Shortcode

    I would like to create a recipe shortcode as I am creating a recipe website/blog. The instructions given in the support link, don’t tell me (a novice) anything. I would like to know where do I actually create shortcodes and how to create them with step by step instructions. I have searched the net and instructions provided assume that I know something about codes and shortcodes. Could I have ‘How to create a shortcode for Dummies’ please.

    So to sum it up: where am I inputting this information/shortcode and what language/text etc am I actually using? And how then do I retrieve this shortcode?
