Hey there, is your domain celldivisionlab.com? and was your domain registered at wordpress.com? I

Seems like, that domain has already expired and is in auction at godaddy.

How many days has it been since the domain expired? Do you have any notices at Dashboard -> Upgrades -> Domains?

As the domain is in an auction, you only have two choices.
    1) Bid on the auction and buy the domain.
    2) If the auction ends without anyone buying the domain, it will be on a redemption period and you can buy that domain again. However, you will need to pay the redemption fee which is $80.

You can get it at a normal price if you don’t redeem the domain. However, you have to for atleast 90 days and anyone can buy the domain once it’s released. Please refer to the support page at https://wordpress.com/support/domains/domain-expiration/
    I hope this helped.

  • Hi Andrew,

It looks like you cancelled this domain on 27 February (it would only have expired on 19 March). Because it was cancelled, rather than expired, it has gone into auction with our registrar. In this case your domain was registered with us, but through Wild West Domains, who are part of GoDaddy, which is why you see it as available on auction there, but it’s not available anywhere to buy as a new domain at the moment.

If it doesn’t get sold at auction, it will enter redemption (most likely at the end of this week), and only after it passes through redemption will it be released so it can be registered again as a new domain.

I’m emailing our registrar to find out if it’s still possible to restore the domain. I’ll let you know as soon as I hear back from them.

Please tag all threads related to expired or cancelled domains for staff. In most cases this isn’t something a user will be able to resolve on their own with a support doc, and additionally these cases are time-sensitive, so the sooner we get involved, the better.

Hey @kokkieh, I swear I had tagged this topic as modlook, weird. Maybe didn’t register due to my internet. Looks like I need to check properly from now on. :) Thank you for pointing it out. I’ve been tagging such posts and pointing them in the correct direction until help arrives.

  • @drandrewburgess,

We’ve had confirmation from our domain provider that it’s not possible to restore your domain at this time.

If it’s not sold at auction it will enter the redemption period, and at that point we’d be able to recover it, provided you pay the redemption fee.

But if it’s sold at auction, the winning bidder will become the new owner of the domain, and you won’t be able to get it back.

At this point all we’re able to do is wait for the domain auction to end, which should be in a few days, but as we don’t control this process I’m unable to tell you exactly when that will be.

  • Hi there,

I just checked your domain again, and it looks like in this case it was bought by someone else at auction. So it’s not possible for us to restore your domain.

Let me know if you have any questions about this.
