reclaiming a deleted blog address
-
This thread has been created due to the new information at https://en.support.wordpress.com/recycling-blog-names/
Sites already deleted by their authors two or more years ago may become available again, if they present no username or other technical conflicts. Do you see a deleted site with an address you would like to have? You can try registering a new site with that address here. If it is available, it will be yours.
I registered this blog https://timethief.wordpress.com/ April 8, 2006 (9 years ago). It was an environmental blog and I titled the site Stolen moments of Island Time. I deleted it the following summer 2007 when I felt that I could no longer trust myself not to SHOUT! at climate change deniers who commented on my posts.
See the internet archive here https://web.archive.org/web/*/http://timethief.wordpress.com
Here’s an old forum thread wherein I refer to that blog https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/regulus-theme-wont-show-custom-header-image?replies=13#post-13763
I do have some numbers on 3″ x 5″ index cards that may be the password and or the API of that blog, but I cannot recall which email address I used to register it, and find any information in my existing email accounts relating to it.
However, in one of my other blogs I do refer to it in this post https://onekoolblog.wordpress.com/2010/03/24/reality-check-on-global-warming/
I have tagged this thread with modlook for a Staff response so I know how to proceed to recover the blog.
ASIDE: If I am successful then I have another blog that matches my other username here https://en.forums.wordpress.com/profile/thistimethisspace that I would also like to recover. In that case I did not understand how domain mapping worked and when I decided to self host I screwed up, deleted the underlying .wordpress.com URL and had to register another one to domain map from.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

I was able to recover timethief.wordpress.com for you. :)
As for the other site, can you sign in with the associated account, and post to this thread? I trust you, but… ;)

We might have cross-posted, but https://timethief.wordpress.com should be recovered now.

Of course and will do ASAP, provided the phone doesn’t ring again. I’m multitasking.

I think I ❤️ you. Well, not really but I’m sure you know what I actually mean.
Now I need to figure out how to transfer the content in https://onekoolblog.wordpress.com to http://thistimethisspace.com
Tips welcomed as I don’t want to bOmb when doing this.

Oops! I mean to to http://thistimethisspace.wordpress.com
I’m so excited I lost it and I need to eat as I’ve been online since 6AM doing business staff.
