    Hi WordPress,
I have not been able to use this account for a long time now and would like to try to get it back to working… I registered the account https://baskools.wordpress.com/ a long time ago, I can not even remember when and also lost track of my login details and registration details completely, I don’t know how to go about this but I find no other way than to ask you for help to recover this account, I hope you can help me out.

You can follow the instructions—> https://en.support.wordpress.com/account-recovery/
    and to use the form
    https://wordpress.com/wp-login.php?action=recovery
(on this form, you can provide certain pieces of information, under Proof of Ownership, to verify that you are the owner of the blog in question)

I have tried that, the whole issue is that I have no clue with which old mail address I have used that account and don’t have any other documentation proof for it so it makes it kind of impossible to access that account or retrieve access to that account myself.

You will need to have access to the email address you used to create that account to reset the password, or otherwise you’ll need the activation link that was sent to you when you created the account. We cannot give you access to the account unless you’re able to verify your ownership via these methods.

How can I figure out which e-mail I used for that account? Than I would be able to see if I still have access to that e-mail account.

    I don’t know, sorry.

But I’m afraid that the answer will be the same

Staff won’t indicate what email address is associated with that site, although they might try sending an email to the email address currently listed as the Admin address.

Just thinking aloud, if you had email notifications of new comments set up on that site, you could try leaving a comment on the Hello World post and seeing where the email shows up.

    Hi there,

I can tell you the username that owns that site is localintelligence. If you enter that username on the password reset form, it will send an email to the correct email address. Can you please try that, and then check all your email accounts for the password reset email:

    https://wordpress.com/wp-login.php?action=lostpassword

If that doesn’t work I can try emailing the email address directly, but if you don’t receive the automatic reset email it’s unlikely that you’ll receive a manual one instead.

    Hello,

I’m in the same situation than user koosbas since a year ago. I asked several times in the forums but never got an answer, so I’m paying for a service that I have not been able to use never because when I bought the domain, the data went to an old e-mail account I was not using. I changed to my new e-mail address that same date and I was never able to access. And not only I paid for a service I was not able to use, but I’m still being billed. I have been charged again yesterday for a new year without service. And I lost the access to all my blogs with this account. I asked for help one year ago in the forums without getting any answer. My bank can’t return the charge and the only way to stop this is to demonstrate I’m trying to solve this issue and I can’t use the service. The old e-mail account was (email visible only to moderators and staff) and I can’t access anymore. Sorry if this is not the correct place for my comment. If it is not, please, let me know. I have also the charge in my bank account to demonstrate. Any help would be much appreciated.

    @sentipensarabstracto

You will need to submit the account recovery form to verify your ownership, and once you do that we can update the email address on that account for you so you can reset the password and access it again.

    https://wordpress.com/wp-login.php?action=recovery

As you have an upgrade in that account that just renewed, the easiest way to verify your ownership is via a transaction ID. Your payment was processed via PayPal, so even if you don’t have a PayPal account they can provide you with a transaction ID for the last payment if you provide them with information on your card that was charged:

    Retrieving a PayPal Transaction ID

Once you have the transaction ID, submit the form, and then let me know in this thread so I can follow up on it.

Hi, thanks for your answer. I tried thousands of times filling this recovery form without success because I don’t have the transaction ID. I’ve just being speaking with PayPal and they confirm that as transaction was not paid using PayPal, they don’t have any information about it, so I understand it is the department who is billing me who can give me this transaction ID so I can fill the form. I can provide the extract of my card but I need someone in the other side willing to solve this…

I can assure you the renewal of the domain on 24 January was processed via PayPal. If they don’t have a transaction ID for you, it means the payment was charged to a different card or PayPal account than the one you’re checking.

Our billing department cannot provide you with the transaction ID as that’s what we need from you to verify your ownership of the account. We cannot make exceptions in this regard under any circumstances.

Well, then my case has no solution and I will be paying forever for something I can’t use. I can’t see any transaction in my PayPal account nor they can. And I have only one PayPal account and my card is the one linked to this PayPal account. And what I can’t understand at all is why I’ve been notified to the correct e-mail about the renewal but you can’t verify the ownership of my account. So for paying it is correct but not for using it. Sorry but I don’t understand anything.

As I have already told, I have the extract of my card with the dates of the transaction of 24 January. I someone wants to solve this, I can send it.

And to make this more complex, in my Renewal Notice e-mail that I got on 24 January, there’s a link to “purchases” but when I click on it it tells there are no receipts, not billing history. ¿really?

I can’t see any transaction in my PayPal account nor they can

It will only show in your PayPal account if you paid via PayPal.

If you paid directly via card it won’t show in your PayPal account, but PayPal will need to look up the transaction in their system.

And what I can’t understand at all is why I’ve been notified to the correct e-mail about the renewal but you can’t verify the ownership of my account.

At what email address were you notified? You’ve only provided one email address in this thread, a @bluemail.es address, and you said that you don’t have access to that email address any more. If the email address you used for the other account is still active and you’re still receiving email notifications from us at that address, you can enter that address in the password reset form to reset your password for that account.

    https://wordpress.com/wp-login.php?action=lostpassword

Please make sure you are logged out of this account when doing that.

As I have already told, I have the extract of my card with the dates of the transaction of 24 January. I someone wants to solve this, I can send it.

It won’t help to send us your credit card details, as we don’t have them on our system to check against. We use payment processors like PayPal, and your card details are stored with them, not with us.

in my Renewal Notice e-mail that I got on 24 January, there’s a link to “purchases” but when I click on it it tells there are no receipts, not billing history

If you click that link while logged into THIS account, you’ll be taken to THIS account’s purchases page, and this account owns no upgrades. You need to be logged into the account that owns the upgrades when you click that link.

Ok, I was at the phone again with PayPal support and it seems that this time the person on the other side knew what I was trying to tell him. Now I have the transaction ID. I have used the form, used the reset password form, and arrived to the same situation. I logged out of my actual account, and accessed again. I arrive to the same point where my purchases history says I have no updates.
