Reclaiming canceled domain
-
I haven’t built a website in awhile and ended up on wordpress.com instead of wordpress.org, I had already registered my domain on the former when I realized the mistake and in haste canceled my account and received a refund without realizing the 60 day hold on domains. Now I can’t build my wordpress.org site using my original domain, and can’t find a way to contact anyone at wordpress.com to reinstate my account using my original domain for the meantime. Thoughts?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi fernhorn,
can’t find a way to contact anyone at wordpress.com to reinstate my account using my original domain for the meantime.
If you wish to use fernhorn.com somewhere else, it should be released in around 5 days time. At which point, you can try registering it through another provider or your current host.
If you need to use fernhorn.com right away, I can send a payment request for the domain cost (as it has already been refunded) and try to restore it once that has been paid — we would need to act quickly in order to catch the domain before it is released. The name servers could then be pointed to your new host under the 60 days transfer lock has passed.
Please let me know which option you prefer.

Thanks @gemmacevans as I don’t need immeditaley, I will wait the 5 days, will I need anything further from you to register it with my new host at that point or will it be simply public?

Hi there,
Once it’s released it will go back into the general pool of available domains, so you’ll be able to simply register it as a new domain with your new provider.
