Reclaiming domain

I once created the blog fractaloftheuniverse but accidentally deleted it.. now I want to re-create it, but it says the domain is taken, but no one is using it… How do I get it back?

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

if I can’t get my url back here, I’ll have to start using blogspot, and I realllly don’t want that :/ I’m not able to pay for a domain atm, so it’ll have to be .wordpress.com … really hope this can be done!

    Hey @Unagalan

Unfortanately it doesnt look like good news for reclaiming your domain.

Deleting a site permanently removes it and you’ll never be able to re-use its WordPress.com address (such as fractaloftheuniverse .wordpress.com) again! :(

There’s more on this topic here: https://en.support.wordpress.com/delete-site/

Why not try another name or play around with the spelling, maybe something like FrctlOfTheUniverse or something like that?

Thanks for replying@jsnmrk! But I really really want it to be “clean” written, so as of for now I’m setting it up on blogspot – while hoping WordPress staff can help me get back my url!! *fingers crossed*
I just find WordPresses network and blog platform way better, easier to use and more organized, but this is really an annoying feature..

No, I’m sorry, not “taken” but

    fractaloftheuniverse.wordpress.com is no longer available.

The authors have deleted this site.

Once deleted, gone forever. WordPress.com does not recycle blog addresses, even for the original site owner. This is mentioned several times in the deletion process: https://en.support.wordpress.com/recycling-blog-names/

The two options open to you are 1st, as @jsnmrk mentioned, pick a different but similar name or 2nd, buy an annually renewable custom domain name with mapping and then it doesn’t matter what the underlying WPcom URL is. Sorry for no better news.
