Recognition of account, name, password

    Often when i log into another’s blog or similar site to join the conversation, one of two things happens (whether i’m logged into WordPress or not):
    The auto-response “you do not own that name” — which tends to erase anything i’ve written prior, or
    ERROR: Invalid username. –which blocks all further use of the site.

    What can i do to make the system recognize me and my password wherever i am?
