Recommend a theme that displays comment thread below post

    Hello,

I’d like to promote discussion on my blog by showing all comments below the relevant post. I currently use Rubric and like most everything about it EXCEPT comments are not visually displayed, which inhibits discussion. Can someone recommend a theme that will allow me to do this? I’m on wordpress.com that doesn’t allow me to customize CSS. The new P2 theme doesn’t look conducive to longer posts.

    Thank you!

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Typically the way blogs work is that the comments do not show on the front page of the blog, and there is a reason for this: If you have lots of comments, then it clutters up the front page considerably and people have to scroll a long ways down to get past the comments and to the next post. I have blogs I visit that get between 150 and 750 comments on each post. If the comments were on the main page, you would wear out the scroll wheel on your mouse in a few days.

The single post page is typically where comments are shown and it is reached either by clicking on the post title or by clicking on the “comment” link above or below the post.

There is no way here at wordpress.com to change that behavior because it would require modifications to the underlying PHP files for the theme, and since this is a multi-user platform, everyone shares the same files. If you were allowed to make a change to those files it would change it for everyone using the same theme as you.
