Recommendations for comment moderation settings?

    I’m new to WordPress and with how it handles comments. I was trying to figure out why all the comments were being moderated even though I thought I had the right box unchecked. After checking it out again, it looks like I missed a couple of options.

    Before a comment appears:
    * An administrator must always approve the comment
    * Comment author must fill out name and e-mail
    * Comment author must have a previously approved comment

    What I wanted to know is how everyone else has their site setup in regards to moderating comments, mainly the name & e-mail requirement. Recommend keeping it checked or not?

    I have the email and name checked, however i also checked the box that requires comments with links to be moderated (think that was under akismet)

    That way it dosent affect your average commentor, but spam mail (since they almost always have links) go to moderation. You do need to keep an eye out for the odd good post thats got link though.

    Don’t go over board with the moderating, to much and you’ll lose readers
