Recommended Blogs?

  Hey, I’m new to wordpress and I just wanted to ask a question about the recommended blogs feature in the Reader Section.

  1) How does wordpress categorize the blogs? Based on individual posts or as a whole? Because, as far as I know, I cannot categorize my whole blog but can put a category for individual posts. For example, if I want to show up in “Musings and Personal”, should I set my categories as musings and personal?

  2) Also, under each blog, there is a small blue speech/comment icon with a number next to it. What does it stand for? For example one blog may have 15 written next to that icon, and the next 15,000.

  Hi,

  You can assign categories and tags to your posts and WordPress will use them to categorize your blog. For more information about categories, click here: https://en.support.wordpress.com/posts/categories/
  Also, I recommend that you take a look at this link: https://en.support.wordpress.com/topics/#missing-posts where it’s listed a number of reasons of why your posts are not appearing under the respective tag (exceeding the maximum number of tags, etc.)

  Regarding your second question, I believe that is the number of comments that have interacted in those blogs. As you can see the recommended blogs are usually blogs with a high number of participation and interaction among their followers.
