Reconnecting Facebook

  Tried to reconnect to Facebook but the following error message popped up:

  App not set up
  This app is still in development mode, and you don’t have access to it. Switch to a registered test user or ask an app admin for permissions.

  Logged into my Facebook account and removed the WordPress.com app under Business Integration. Tried reconnecting to Facebook again and still failed. Same error message came up.

  I did not check the box to delete content created by WordPress.com when I removed the WordPress.com app on Facebook but all the posts had disappeared anyway.

  How do we resolve this issue? Thanks.

  Hi there,

  We are currently experiencing an issue affecting connections to Meta (Facebook/Instagram). The issue prevents posts from being shared via our Publicize service, as well as the Instagram widget and Instagram Gallery Block

  The issue is under review as we speak, and we are waiting for a resolution by Meta before services can be restored.

  This issue is affecting WordPress.com, as well as Jetpack-connected sites and the Jetpack Social plugin.

  Please do not take any action with your Facebook or Instagram connections yet. We’ll update here once we have more information.

  I just add to report that I have the same problem, all articles shared on Facebook are gone.

  Now I have put the Facebook page as unpublished

  Great! Thanks for the update. Works for me now.

  Also, I have another issue – not sure if it’s related to this same problem.

  I use the Jetpack Facebook plugin widget on my site. Though it posts automatically to Facebook whenever I publish a new post, images are not showing up on the widget. This only happened recently when I couldn’t reconnect to Facebook.

  Also, there would be times when the widget would display weird letters/wordings like a foreign language or something.

  Do you know where the problem is? Thanks again in advance!

  I recommend removing and re-adding that widget from your sidebar. You can post in the Jetpack support forum if that doesn’t work.
