  • Howdy!

Thank you for sharing that error message!

I want to be sure I understand the problem you’re facing. Are you referring to the Publicize tool? Also, which site are you working on?

    Good evening.
It’s the blog according to https://spotjardin.wordpress.com/
    Good evening.

  • Thank you. Please share more details about the problem you are having.

Liz, lapinbleu2 says that sometimes, when they try to save a post, the “Whoops” message appears. When they click on the “Back” button and try again, it works. I already told them that I have no knowledge of any server problems at the moment.

  • There are no other reports of server errors.

I recommend clearing your browser cache and cookies to try and resolve the “whoops!” message.

Let me know if you need additional help.

Good evening. When you say “Vider the cache”, delete the browsing history? Isn’t it?
If Yes, I did. I wrote a new publication. Then I selected this publication to put it in the menu. When I placed it in the right place (in skiing) I clicked the menu “Enregistrer”. ” After a while, I had this error message again. So I clicked on “Go Back” and again the error message appeared. ” I checked all the same if my publication has been validated. It has been validated. Normally I should have the message “Menu to jour”. ” Get that message. It’s weird isn’t it? Before, it worked perfectly. What t he?

  • Clearing your browser history won’t have any effect on what we are working on. This guide explains how to clear your cache, you can select your browser for specific step-by-step instructions.

Please report back to let me know if this has fixed your issue.

  • Can you share the link of the page you are on when this happens?

Hello Lyze. Here is the link to the error page. I think that that is what you are asking.
    https://spotjardin.WordPress.com/WP-admin/NAV-menus.php good evening!

I do not understand, this link directs to my blog. And yet it is the link I had to my error message.

  • Hi there –

I see that there are quite a few menu items there. I’d recommend limiting the menu size so that it is able to function normally.

Instead of linking directly to the post, you could link to a category that contains them all. This way, your visitor would only see 1 menu category, but when they click on it, they’d see all of your posts.

Let me know if you have any other questions!

Instead of linking directly to the post, you can link to a category,

    IE? What do mean you?

  • You can link your categories in the site menu instead of each individual post.

This will reduce the amount of menu items and should fix the “whoops” error that you are getting.

  • Unknown's avatar

Ah ok. But how do we get it you please? I never did it.

  • First, I would take a look at all of your posts and their assigned categories and make sure they are setup the way you want.

Once you have all of your categories sorted and organized you can proceed with adding them to your menu 1 (primary menu).

From your dashboard on the left, find Themes, and then click on the little button next to it labeled ‘Customize‘.

Once the Customizer opens up, you will see the menu on the left again. Find Menus and click on it. You should wind up here.

The last menu listed is Menu 1. This is the one that we are looking at. Click on Menu 1. You will see the long long long list of items connected to that menu. Most of them are single posts.

If you click on each individual item, a box will open, and you will see a red ‘remove’ tag at the bottom. That is how you can remove the individual posts from the menu. This will not delete your posts entirely from the site, but just remove them from the menu.

Once you finish with removing the posts you can add the categories to the menu. To do this scroll to the bottom of the menu. Click on the ‘+ Add Item’ box, then click on Categories, and add each of those categories.

Now, each post will show up under its associated category when a visitor clicks on those category links in the menu.

The second option is to create a new menu from scratch. You will do this from Customizer > Menu > and instead of picking Menu 1 click on +add new menu. Give the menu a name and once you add the desired items to the menu you can then set this new menu to be your primary menu.

Thanks for the reply. ES what a francophone employee could
help me because I do not really understand the conduct of operations. Good evening.

  • I’ve added the “New Menu” as your primary menu. All of your categories are linked in your menu on the site. Each post will fall under it’s assigned category. It is still a lot of menu items, that you can organize further to condense. Since I do not speak this language I’m not really able to do that for you. I no longer get the “whoops” message. Please let me know if you see that again.

Alternatively, you could add something like the Category
    Cloud Widget
into your sidebar and display all of your categories that way. Then, in your menu you could simplify to a Home, Blog, and Contact pages for example.

Please reply with any questions :)
