Recover a domain that has recently expired

    Hello,

    I want to recover a domain name that has expired but still blocked by wordpress because it has recently expired. How can I do ?

    This domain is grainedanar.og

    This domain name is ours, but the group member who bought it (RZO) is no longer there and suddenly, we would like to get it back for the band definitely!

    Howdy –

    Is there a typo in the domain name that you shared? It doesn’t exist which is why I’m inquiring about that.

    What I did was look up grainedanar.org instead. Please let me know if that’s what you’re needing help with. It’s not actually registered through WordPress.com so you’d need to contact the registrar for further help with renewal and ownership.

    You’re going to need permission from the owner in order to move forward. It’d be worth reaching out to them as well.

    The domain name is indeed GRAINEDANAR.ORG

    This domain was registered via WordPress by the user “RZO” at the time, a few years ago.

    He had undertaken to give me this domain name, but it seems that it did not go to the end. Whereas your services had affirmed the opposite.

    That domain shows both GoDaddy and Wild West Domains as the registrar. Perhaps in this case it wasn’t originally registered via WordPress.com (using Wild West Domains)? I’ll ask staff to confirm if the owner of the domain should be approaching WordPress.com, Wild West Domains or GoDaddy.

    I confess that I do not understand everything. First, for me, this domain was purchased by the user RZO via WordPress. Then he should have come back to me.

    If possible, can you collect it and assign it to me? It is very important for us to recover our domain name!

    Domains can get pretty complicated. This is what I can see for the one in question GRAINEDANAR.ORG :

    Registrar WHOIS Server: whois.godaddy.com
    Registrar URL: http://www.whois.godaddy.com

    There’s also a mention of Wild West Domains as themagicrobot mentioned in their reply. WordPress.com uses Wild West, but not every domain out there which mentions Wild West was registered through us. They have multiple partners. Does that help?

    Your domain was registered at GoDaddy. Because of that, we have no control over the recovery.

    The domain could have very well been used at WordPress.com and registered through GoDaddy, it’s actually a very common scenario.

    From here, what you need to do is contact GoDaddy domain support and ask them if the domain can be recovered, or if you need to wait for it to be available as new again. I think the second is going to be the case, but please check with them.

    The best thing you can do is try to register the domain, as brand new, several times per day. There won’t be any notification as to when it gets released and available, so just keep trying and hopefully you’ll get to it before anyone else.
