Recover access to website
-
I inherited a website from someone who quit the project. At that time I had access, but not as an administrator. I managed the site for the past 2 years, and paid for it. It’s hosted on WordPress. How can I regain access without the gmail account that it was originally created with?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Since you have been the one paying for the site for the past two years, you have a very strong case for regaining administrative access through the WordPress.com Account Recovery process. Because you don’t have access to the original creator’s Gmail account, you will need to prove ownership by providing the Transaction ID found on your bank or credit card statements for any of the recent renewal payments you’ve made. You can start this process by visiting the Account Recovery Form and selecting the option to prove ownership via payment details; once a manual review is completed by the support team, they can update the primary email address to yours and grant you full administrator rights. It is also worth checking if you can still log in with your current lower-level credentials to view the Upgrades > Purchases section, as the transaction details listed there can be used to verify your identity even more quickly.
