Recover account only used for Jetpack and so no blog for recovery page.

I need to recover an account that was setup with an old no longer existing e-mail address. The wordpress.com account was only used to enable Jetpack.

I have the key, but the account recovery page requires a wordpress.com blog address – which I do not have because the account was only used for jetpack.

How can I contact someone to recover an active account without an active wordpress.com blog?

    Thank you for the escalation.

    Hi there,

Still use the regular Account Recovery form, but in the field labeled…

“What is the URL of the specific blog you are contacting us about?”

…use the URL for the site where Jetpack was enabled.

In the “Extra Details” field, mention that it was a Jetpack-enabled site instead of a WordPress.com site.

The same information will still be necessary, but you’ve mentioned that you have the activation key so once we get that form entry we’ll get it handled for you. :)

Thank you. When I type in my blog URL I get the following error message:

Sorry but the website you gave does not exist on WordPress.com. Is it a self-hosted WordPress.org website?

I cannot seem to submit the form without a WordPress.com hosted blog. Is there another option I could try?

I’ll send an email in a moment to the address associated with the account you’re posting from here. Please reply to that email with the information normally gathered in the Account Recovery form.

    Alex G. helped me out.

    Very impressed with WordPress.com support!
