Hi everyone, I will briefly explain my problem. I have 3 different wordpress and akismet accounts.
The first account is very old (user: cesarinik) and has been erased a lot of time ago.
The second account is the one from which I am writing (user: akismet-b96249953ead …. etc ….)
The third account (user: cesarinik85) is an account used for akismet (where it says I can also access wordpress.com, even if I can not really get it)

My problem is: I would like to make the account I’m writing from as the main one, because it’s the only one really active with al my website linked in, but I would like to use something more user-friedly than akismet-b9624 as username.
So I tried to change my username in cesarinik, but the system prevents me because it tells me that there is another account deleted with that name.
I tried to retrieve my account but it is very old and I do not remember anything else than the username (I probably even registered with an email that I no longer use) and I dont have any of the data that are required (transaction ID, etc.)

How can I sove this problem?

P.S. Thank you, and sorry for my english

You’re welcome. I vaguely recall thread or support doc on the issue of Akismet usernames with a string of numbers in them but cannot locate it. Please be patient while waiting for Staff help. :)

Hi cesarinik, we can rename the akismet account pretty easily, and “merging” is doable with some work — basically you would move everything to one account then stop using the other. We just can’t get an old username back again.

If we can fix the access issues with cesarinik85 would that work well enough, or would you want to rename this account to something that’s available?

Thank you for your quick answer!

Rename the akismet account to “cesarinik” would be great!

If renaming to “cesarinik” was not be possibile, I will appreciate the same “cesarinik85”, but I’d rather the first one option.

If you can rename this account to “cesarinik” is enough. Basically I’d need it. No merge if it require too much work.

We aren’t able to rename it to that, though, because we can’t get an old username back again. Even on our end.

You would need to rename it to something that does not exist yet.

Exactly — sorry we can’t use used usernames on our end either. Cheers :)
