Recover Atavist projects???
-
Hello, I had no idea Atavist was shutting down and now two very important projects are no longer accessible. These are the links: https://erinstone.atavist.com/theshipwrecklounge and https://erinstone.atavist.com/the-coming-of-the-rail
How can I recover these projects??

Atavist has stopped exports as of June 28, so we can no longer assist with this: https://wordpress.com/forums/topic/atavist-help/

Wow, so all of that information is gone? There is absolutely no way to recover everything? That is absurd.

Please please let me know if there is any possible way to recover what was on those sites. I searched through my email and have no record of any email saying the website was shutting down, so perhaps it did not actually go out to all users. Thank you for any help you can provide.

I was able to find archived copies of these at https://web.archive.org/web/20200616110514/https://erinstone.atavist.com/theshipwrecklounge and https://web.archive.org/web/20210114183403/https://erinstone.atavist.com/the-coming-of-the-rail

Yes, I found that too, but it is not the most up-to-date version and it does not include all the images and multimedia interactive aspects obviously. Is there no way to receive an export of all my data at this point? I don’t understand how that is even legal.

Hi @erinstone7, please read the best practices and community standards for these WordPress.com forums. Your last post was not appropriate here.
https://wordpress.com/forums/topic/best-practices-community-standards/Every Atavist account was notified months ago through the email address on file. After the shut down, there were still a few months where folks could contact us to have the content restored, but it’s been quite a while since then, too.
I’m sorry there’s nothing more we can do at this point. But the archive.org backups should help with older content, and hopefully more recent content can be gathered from emails, drafts, etc.
Good luck!
