Recover Blog
-
I had a blog with wordpress.com initially [blog.wordpress.com]. I then used a domain for it [domain.com]. I then forwarded [domain.com] to [domain2.com]. Is there anyway to recover the initial [blog.wordpress.com]?
Thank you,

the original blog I cannot remember
angelahopper.com is the domain that was forwarded
angelahopperphotography.com is the current domain -
If you cannot remember the WordPress.com URL, we cannot help you get it back. Neither of the other two websites are connected to WP.com. I suppose you could just start a new one.

This is a related question: Once I’ve gone through the process of buying a custom domain upgrade and set it as my primary domain, will it still be possible for WordPress to find and transfer my old site info (subscribers, etc.)? Or should I wait to redirect traffic until WordPress has completed this process? If the latter, how do I separate the process of registering the new domain from the redirection process? Thanks.

You do not TRANSFER anything. Buying and mapping a custom domain is like installing another door on a house; the house stays the same.

Oh really? Because I was told on another thread that my subscribers wouldn’t move with me and I would need to contact WordPress to make that transfer for me. They referred me to this support page:
http://en.support.wordpress.com/moving-a-blog/moving-your-subscribers/
Perhaps I was confusing this with a different kind of change?

That’s good news, because I didn’t want to move subscribers, but if you don’t mind, can you distinguish for me the difference between what I’m actually doing and what WordPress support thought I meant in that thread?
