Recover blog name

It appears that a few years ago someone at our organization started to set up a wordpress blog in our company name but never finished it (there are no posts). Now we would like to set up a wordpress blog but cannot use our company name. Is there any way to recover our name for our new site?

http://en.support.wordpress.com/recycling-blog-names/Since the original blog has not been deleted (can’t verify as you did not provide the name), you may have luck via the contact method listed at the end of the above directions and hopefully the blog can be transferred from the original owner to someone else in your organization.
If necessary, you can register another blog with a similar name (looks like you may have done that already with http://dallasanimalservicesblog.wordpress.com )
Or you can register a new domain:
http://en.support.wordpress.com/domain-mapping/register-domain/or use a domain mapping upgrade and it will not matter what the underlying wordpress.com address is:
http://en.support.wordpress.com/domain-mapping/(Registering a domain and mapping are fee services.)

Are you referring to this site “dallasanimalservices.wordpress.com”? Looks like there are two new posts, I suggest you get in touch with the blog owner if you want to transfer to your user, or the owner can add your user to the blog, so you can manage it too, as follows:
