Recover deleted blog

  Hi, I made a blog, matthewgwebb.wordpress.com and deleted it because I was frustrated. Can I get it back? I want to try again. Sorry for not understanding the seriousness of the deletion! Kind regards

  Sorry, no you cannot. There were clear warnings during the deletion process that deletion was permanent and you even had to click a link in the confirmation email you received.

  I eally don’t know what more can be done to alert bloggers. There are 3 warning given that blog deletion is permanent and blog names are not recycled. In addition the person deleting the blog must use a verification of deletion link sent to them in an email to complete the process. http://en.support.wordpress.com/recycling-blog-names/

  You can register another blog with a similar name. http://en.support.wordpress.com/register-a-blog/

  Or you can purchase a domain name via a domain mapping upgrade as in that case it will not matter what the underlying .wordpress.com address is.

  Thanks timethief and thesacredpath. That’s it I guess, just accept that I deleted it forever and ever… I think people do this because with other blogs, say blogger, you can delete (presumably permanently) than recover it rather easily. Thanks again!

  Wow, I a similar problem. I reserved the blog and url thinking I would launch it in the future, but then I deleted it thinking I never will. Now after a few days I was given the opportunity to start it. I didn’t have any posts on it, but I deleted it thinking I could get to use the URL again in the future.

  I tried to create a blog with the same url, but it wont let me. Is there a waiting period before urls are usable again after you delete a blog?

  Once you delete a blog, the URL will never become available again, they’re gone forever, the best option is to set your blog to private rather than delete it.
