recover deleted domain

Hello, i deleted my domain dolceitaliaphotography.com a couple of hours ago but turns out i made a mistake. Do you think there is anyway of recovering it back? And if yes, how much time does this require to be available again?

When I go to https://dolceitaliaphotography.com/ I get a message saying that domain mapping is not set up. Did you actually *delete* the domain, or did you just remove domain mapping? If the latter, you should be able to just add domain mapping again:

I don’t understand why WordPress leaves that message about mapping.
I truly deleted my domain, unfortunately. That’s why from dolceitaliaphotography.com now my blog is only available on dolceitaliaphotography.wordpress.com.
I really need my domain back if possible! Maybe the engineers of WordPress.com can do something. I understand it’s not the first time that they recover a deleted domain…

I’ve added modlook to the tags in the right column to bring this to the attention of WordPress.com staff.
(It looks like the domain hasn’t been deleted from the DNS system yet. The mapping message probably sticks around until that has been fully processed.)

Hi @dolceitaliaphotography, thankfully the domain had not actually been cancelled yet: once cancelled, it’s returned to the registrar.
I was able to restore the domain to the account for you. Let us know what you had in mind initially, and we’ll see if we can help you.

Omg, thank you so much! You saved us! I delete the domain thinking it would be available right away for wordpress.org. When instead i should have transferred it to the other host. I will proceed carefully now to the complete transfer.

Usually it has a warning saying it won’t be available if you cancel it. Did that appear at all?

What will not be available? Now i’m trying to transfer but appears to be a problem. Usually when click transfer of domain in wordpress.com my domain should be unlocked and i should be receiving one email with a transfer code… I have been trying for hours to receive that mail but nothing yet. I keep repeating and clicking ‘resend transfer code’ but still no mail. And in hostgator they say that my domain is locked still. Hopefully its not connected with the fact that was deleted and recovered previously.

It looks like the domain wasn’t restored correctly, which is why you still can’t transfer it.
I’ve emailed our registrar to try and get it back. I’ll let you know as soon as I hear from them.

Your domain has been restored by our registrar and I’ve checked that it’s working again. You should now be able to transfer the domain. Let me know if you need any more help with that.
