recover deleted essay
-
I typed my essay in the visual editor instead of the text editor. I checked the text editor and discovered the essay was also there. I thought I might clean the visual editor, so I deleted the thing I wrote in the visual editor and the whole essay is now gone, not even in the text editor. Can you help retrieve or restore what I deleted??

If you only cleaned the editor, you can undo the action by hitting Ctrl + Z if you are using PC. On Mac, it may be Command + Z. But this can be only done so long as you are on the new/edit post page.
If you moved the post to trash, then please Trash support document to learn how to recover the trashed post.

Also keep in mind that the post or page you are working on can be edited by each editor. What you do in the visual editor will always be duplicated in the text (html) editor. And if you change coding in the text editor, those changes will be seen in the visual editor. Those changes are implemented immediately because even though visual and text editors look different, each one is being applied to the same post or page that you are working on. There is not a “Visual Editor” version of your post or page, plus a “Text Editor” version.
Both the Visual and Text editors work on the same post or page. If you delete in one editor, then the post or page will be deleted in the other. They are simply two different vies of you post or page.
If you saved versions of your post, then you will be able to retrieve it via the methods described by chaitanyamsv above.
An excellent practice is to copy all in text editor then paste it into textedit or equivalent on windows. Copy, paste, and save versions. Often.
