  Hi – I canceled a premium subscription yesterday, because I’m trying to switch my site over to wordpress.org (I’d like more control over the design) In canceling, I accidentally also deleted the domain name I had purchased, can I re-purchase the domain name and use it for a wordpress.org site hosted on DreamHost?

  Hi, when you cancel a new domain it will go into holding for a bit, and you can wait, re-purchase the domain, or re-buy the plan. It sounds like you want to use this second option. I’ll send an invoice, but if you change your mind and want to wait it out instead, just let us know.

  Wait: You can wait about five days for the domain to be released. So long as no one else buys it before you do, you can purchase it again here or with another provider.

  Repurchase the Domain: We can send an invoice for the domain. Once it’s restored, you will be able to use it with a monthly plan here, or you can point it to another host and transfer after 60 days.

  Purchase an Annual Plan: To host your site here after all, buy an annual plan, skip the domain option, then update us here.
