Recover Domain
-
I recently deleted a domain that was created 24 hrs ago. Can this still be recovered?
-
https://designrumorsdotcom.wordpress.com/ is no longer available. The authors have deleted this site.
Too bad you ignored the warnings. You cannot register any deleted blog URL. Deleting any .wordpress.com blog URL is not easily done and what you ask to do is not possible. One has to ignore at least three warnings stating that deletion is permanent and irreversible and then click a verification link in an email to delete a blog. That’s because deleted blog URLs are not recycled, regardless of who registered and deleted them and the only exceptions are made are for URLs that were deleted 2 or more years ago. http://en.support.wordpress.com/recycling-blog-names/
You can register another .wordpress.com blog http://en.support.wordpress.com/register-a-blog/
Then if you wish to you can register a domain via a domain mapping upgrade because it does not matter what the underlying .wordpress.com address is when you are domain mapping.

Why is the domain still appearing “taken” though I’ve unregistered it? Is there a grace period until it is avalaible again? Thanks

All wordpress.com blogs are on .wordpressCOM subdomains. Like the one that has been deleted above.
What is the exact URL starting with https:// of this domain you refer to?
-
I understand. I’d want to create a new wordpress subdomain that I can map to the old domain but it still appears taken, “http://www.designrumors.com”

You can register another .wordpress.com blog http://en.support.wordpress.com/register-a-blog/
Then you can purchase a domain mapping upgrade. No Staff help is needed for this at all.
Read:
Domains: Important Notes Before Upgrading
https://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/#important-notes-before-upgrading
In order to map to a domain URL one must have an underlying .wordpress.com sub-domain blog to map from, and the domain name you desire must be available for purchase, or you must already own the domain URL.All that changes when you are domain mapping is the URL and nothing else. http://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/ The content stays exactly where it is. What domain mapping does its create a seamless transfer between the underlying .wordpress.com blog URLs to the new domain URLs no matter where they are on the internet. Visitors who click the underlying .wordpress.com blog URLs will be seamlessly redirected to the exact same content under the new domain URLs.
See here if you do not own a domain

Hi there,
It is highly unlikely that we will be able to retrieve this domain at this point, however I have sent up a request to do so. I will let you know one way or the other if we are able to get it back!

Hi there,
I’ve followed up in a private email. Reply to me there, and we’ll see what we can do.
