Recover domain in redemption period
-
My domain (emilybrinnand.com) has unfortunately expired.
Looking through the help documentation it appears I can still recover it (for an additional fee) but I need someone to send me an email with the instructions for doing so.
As per https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/want-to-recover-expired-domain?replies=8 can someone please email me the instructions please.
Thanks,

I have the exact problem. My domain LawrenceCarrillo.com expired 11/24/2016 and is in the redemption period. Was wondering when it would be open to buy/activate it again.

It is true that we can get expired domains back from our registrar for about 80 days after they expired. But your domain expired in March 2016. That domain has long since been removed from our system and deleted at our registrar.
It looks like someone else registered that domain with GoDaddy.com on 31 August last year, so that person now owns the domain. We have no way of getting that domain back for you.

The whois data shows the domain is for sale, meaning the current owner is a domain squatter who deliberately bought the domain when it expired hoping you’ll want it back. You can try contacting them to do that, but be prepared for them asking you many times the original cost of the domain. Many domain squatters are also scam artists, so be careful in dealing with them.

My honest recommendation is to choose a different domain :)
To get this domain back you’ll need to wire a bunch of money to someone in Panama, based on the contact info showing for that domain, and then trust them to transfer the domain to you. Speaking for myself, that’s not a risk I would take.
But if you want to try it, it looks like they have the same contact info for the different contacts. You need to use the contact info in the big box at the top, not the GoDaddy contact information in the little box.
