Recover expired content, I have the .xml file how to import

Hello, I have the .xlm file of my old blog which was originally hosted on wordpress.org but then transferred to the free .com version and then eventually taken down for reasons unknown to me. I didn’t delete it nor requested it is removed. How can I recover the content. Thanks for your help

Hi Tim,
Lets try the steps that I mention below.
- Go to your website dashboard
- Tools -> Import
- Select WordPress
- You will then see an underlined option as shown in the image below “upload it to import content”
- Upload the file and then start the import
- Once done, make sure to go through the pages and make edits where needed

Since you have the XML file from your old blog, it contains all your posts and pages. You can easily import these into a new blog. To do this, please follow the guide at https://wordpress.com/support/import/import-a-sites-content/
It’s important to note that the XML file doesn’t include any images or media files. Instead, it contains links to these files. When you import your content to the new site, these media files will be uploaded only if your old site is still online.
