Recover my expired domain “haboobgoods.com”

    I purchased a domain “haboobgoods.com” last year which was expired in August 2025, I wanted to purchase same domain again but on finding same domain in wordpress I am getting below message:

    “This domain is already mapped to a WordPress.com site.”

    How, can I recover my expired domain?

    Hi @defafalkhalij,

    When a domain expires, it doesn’t immediately become available for re-registration. It usually goes through several stages: grace period, redemption period, and then it is either released to the public or taken by someone else.

    Since you’re seeing the message “This domain is already mapped to a WordPress.com site,” it means the domain hasn’t been released yet and is still linked somewhere inside WordPress.com’s system.

    I see that you need assistance with renewing your expired domain, and I’m here to help.

    I reviewed the domain in question, haboobgoods.com, and confirmed that your understanding is correct it has expired. Currently, the domain is in the “Active Auction” period and cannot be renewed directly by you at this time. The auction will run until October 9, 2025.

    If the domain is not purchased by another user during the auction, it will enter the Redemption stage. At that point, you can renew it by paying the standard renewal fee plus a redemption fee of $80.

    Regarding the message, “The domain is currently mapped to a WordPress.com site”, this means that although the domain has expired, it is still actively connected to a site and must complete the auction and redemption stages before it becomes fully available for renewal.
