Recover my old account – Help!?
-
Hello,
I haven’t used my blog page in years. Life has changed and I would like to resurrect it. As you can see there is hardly anything in it but there is one entry which has a lot of sentimental value.

I can not reset the password as the mailbox originally used has long since expired.
I have looked at the recovery form but the issue I have is that I do not have a transaction ID as I never paid for anything. I can not access the Activation URL as it was sent to the expired mailbox which just doesn’t exist anymore. I never had two factor authentication set up as I don’t think that was an option 7 years ago.
As such I can not fill in the recovery form, I have every form of ID I can possibly give to prove it is my account, I just cant contact anyone. This site doesn’t make it easy!
Any suggestions on how I can access my old account, or contact WordPress to help? I’d like to keep it and now start using it.
Thank you for any help, and any suggestions
Ash Bennette (genuinely!)

You can log in with your original old username rather than an email address (which is the same as your site address) but you’ll need to recall the password. If you can’t and are without access to the email address associated with the site you’re probably out of luck.
PS: To anyone else seeing this thread. Write your password down! Update your email address details as and when necessary if you ever think you’ll revisit an old WordPress.com site! -
Thanks, I have actually tried that. Scratched my head for hours yesterday with every combination I can think of but no joy.
Cant reset it as the mailbox is dead, and around in circles I go.
I can prove its me, there are pictures of me on it!

Any staff members here that I can chat with, maybe take me through what ever ID checks you think appropriate?
