Recover web page.

Our Church had a webpage. tbuuf.org that was created by our former minister a couple of years ago. I’m president of the congregation and our webmaster is named Ben Ledbetter. We both have administrator status. I’m confident that our former Minister, Sally Beth Shore will assist us if need be to get the page reinstated. Please let us know what we need to do. I would hate to loose all of the historical information on the page. Thanks in advance for your assistance.

Hello there, it looks like your domain is hosted on Dreamhost, not here at WordPressdotcom. You’ll want to contact them directly.

Jennifer, I’ve never heard of Dreamhost. In the past, we’ve always logged in to make changes through WordPress. Is Dreamhost affiliated and how do I contact them? Phil

Hello again and Happy New Year. According to the whois search I did, your domain nameservers are pointing to Dreamhost.

    Domain Name: TBUUF.ORG
    WHOIS Server:
    Referral URL: http://www.dreamhost.com/
    Updated Date: 2016-12-18T01:22:32Z
    Creation Date: 2013-12-17T13:05:52Z
    Registry Expiry Date: 2017-12-17T13:05:52Z
    Name Server: NS1.DREAMHOST.COM
    Name Server: NS2.DREAMHOST.COM
    Name Server: NS3.DREAMHOST.COM

Looking at the Internet Archive Wayback Machine, the last crawl they did of your domain was in October 30, 2016 and it looks like at that time your site was using the standalone WordPress software. (meta name=”generator” content=”WordPress 4.6.1″)

It’s possible that your site was connected to WordPressdotcom through the jetpack plugin, but it doesn’t appear that your site is hosted here.

You might want to check with your webmaster.

Just to clarify, standalone WP and WordPressdotcom (where we are) are different entities; more information about the differences can be found here: https://en.support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/

I hope that helps and best wishes.
