Recover wordpress.com expired domain
-
Recently I cancelled a wordpress.com domain subscription for the site ‘cody-skinner.com’ because I thought I would be able to use the domain somewhere else immediately after cancellation. After cancelling, the domain has become expired but I am unable to use it or recover it. I am willing to pay the 18$ to just recover the domain on wordpress.com to transfer. On the wordpress.com website, whenever I try to re-purchase the domain to transfer it elsewhere, it says ‘This domain expired recently. To get it back please contact support.’ I would just like to know how I can get this domain back.

Hi there:
Please let us know which of these options works best for you:
Wait: You can wait about five days from cancellation for the domain to be released. So long as no one else buys it before you do, you can purchase it again with another provider.
Repurchase the Domain: We can send an invoice and restore the domain. You’ll be able to point it to a new host as soon as it’s restored, then transfer the registration after 60 days.
Repurchase a Plan: To host your site here after all, buy a plan, skip the domain option, then update us here.
Let us know – thanks!
