Recovering a just deleted site.
-
To put it simply; The Sonic World development team was duped on a legal matter. While everything was backed up before deletion; we need to bring the site back and the domain needs to be recovered. Thanks for any help.

This is the support forum for sites hosted at WordPress.com. What is the full address of the domain you wish to recover? Was it originally hosted here? If you’re talking about sonicworld.com then you need to approach the current owner of that domain:
Domain Name: SONICWORLD.COM
Registrar: Uniregistrar Corp
Name Server: BUY.INTERNETTRAFFIC.COM
Name Server: SELL.INTERNETTRAFFIC.COM -
The site trying to be recovered is http://sonicworldfangame.com/
Yes, it was hosted on WordPress and was deleted yesterday (around 16 hours ago).
-
Also; no one owns the domain now as I would have just unregistered it and WordPress said in order to add back that domain (due to it being recently unregistered) I would need to contact support.

This page is parked free, courtesy of WordPress.comWhat were you planning on doing with the domain? Were you wanting to move it to another host? Deleting it means you no longer own that domain. I’ve added a modlook tag to ask a member of staff to reply here in due course.

Basically to explain; we were told to take down the site for “legal reasons” which turned out to be lies and now we know we plan to get the domain back to pretty much just put the site back up, still on WordPress. I backed up all the stuff from the site so once the domain is back in our hands we can just put the site back up exactly as it was.

Hi there,
Our records show that your domain is on hold. This means that we may still be able to recover your domain at its regular renewal price of $26 and for that, I have already emailed you a payment request. Please reply back if you have submitted the payment so that we can begin the recovery process.
Please note that if in the meantime your domain enters into redemption, then a late renewal fee of $80 will be added to the regular price of renewal. This fee is charged by the domain registry and is not one that we can waive.
If you have any other questions, just let me know and I’ll be happy to help.

Thanks for the help; I’ve purchased back the domain however it’s still coming up with “This domain expired recently. To get it back please contact support.”. I’m guessing this is because it is still going through the system.
Thanks for all the help. -
Hi there,
You have not purchased the domain back. You made a manual payment via the link @fstat sent you. Now we need to email our domain provider to ask them to restore the domain, as it was removed from our system after it expired. You won’t be able to use it until they do that.
We’ve now emailed them to ask. We’ll let you know once they reply.
Can you also please confirm whether we should restore the deleted site as well, or whether you want the domain connected to the other site in your account.

If possible I would like to restore the old site. Would it also be possible to set it to private so I can make some small adjustments to it before it goes fully live again?
Once again, thanks for all the help. -
I’ve restored the deleted site and set it to private. You should now see it in your sites list again at My Sites ->Switch Site.
We’ll let you know as soon as our domain provider replies to say the domain has been reactivated.
-
Good news! We restored the domain sonicworldfangame.com to your account.
It’s already active again on https://wordpress.com/domains/sonicworldfangame.com/
