Recovering a lost wordpress site

    In August 2022, I closed down my wordpress site, but would now like to recover it and need to understand how to achieve this. Can anyone help me.?

    Hi there:

    I’m showing the domain “savealdington.com” was mapped to savealdington.wordpress.com, but there doesn’t appear to have ever been any content on that site. Looking at the other WordPress.com sites under your account, they also never have had any content.

    Was your site hosted here previously? To avoid confusion, there are three different “WordPress” at play here:

    1. The free, open-source WordPress software which powers your website.
    2. WordPress.org which is the open-source project that works on the WordPress software and where you can get the software for free to use on your own hosting provider.
    3. WordPress.com which is a managed hosting provider of the WordPress software and with whom you’re contacting now.

    Looking up the DNS history for that domain, it looks like the nameservers have been pointing to Stack DNS. Is that where you had your site? If so, you would need to contact them to see if they still have your previous website.
