    Thanks.

  • Hi there,

When a domain is deleted, it is returned to the registry to prepare it for resales. As a result, dragr.blog is no longer under our control.

Because if this, we display warnings when you cancel a domain that you may lose control of it, and provide several confirmation steps (before the domain is truly cancelled) to make sure that it is not done accidentally.

In the case of dragr.blog, because it is returned to the registry, we are able to ask that it be returned to our account, but they charge an $80 redemption fee (in addition to the yearly registration cost) that we are not able to waive for any reason.

If you would like to proceed with recovering this domain please let us know so we can send an invoice for payment and start the recovery process. It may also be possible to purchase the domain again after the domain has exited the redemption process, which typically ends 60-90 days from the date of cancellation.

Let us know how you would like to proceed or if you have any questions.

Hello, thanks for the quick reply.

Yes, we’d like to go ahead with the recovery of the domain. Please send the invoice and we’ll get that paid so the recovery can begin.

    Thanks.

Thank you for confirming! I have generated the invoice and sent it to the email address associated with your account.

After you make the payment for the invoice, please let us know here. We won’t receive notifications when payments are processed, but as soon as we receive your response, we will proceed to recover the domain and restore it to your account.

If you have any questions in the meantime, feel free to ask. We are here to assist you!

Hello, that’s the invoice now paid. Thanks.

  • The domain has been successfully restored to your account and site. You can see that here.

Looking ahead, will you want to use “dragr.blog” as your site’s primary domain? If you do, you’ll want to add one of the paid plans you see here: https://wordpress.com/plans/

You originally started out with the Premium plan. If you are not sure you need that again, but you know that you want to use your domain, tell us more about the site you have now and where you would like it to go in the next 6 to 12 months. For example, is your hope is to grow audience and try to make some money from that effort? Bits of information like this would be super helpful for us to know. :)

Thank you, we can see the domain is now back in our account.

It still has an expiry date of August 24, 2023. Does that take a little time to reflect that it has also been renewed for one year?

  • Hi again,

Thanks for pointing that out. It should be 2024, so I have added an extra year. You should see this correctly reflected on your end, thanks!

Thanks again for sorting this all out – we appreciate it being dealt with so quickly.

This can now be closed/ marked as resolved.
