Recovering a password without email
-
Help!! I forgot my free WordPress password and no longer have the email associated with the account (I think I set it up with my old work email). Now I have no way to log in (don’t have any of the authentication information needed). This is disastrous as I am an earth science teacher and rely on the site to post all my information for students! Can anyone help? I can definitely prove my name and that fact that I teach where the website says I do.

Hi,
If you don’t have the original email used to set up the account, you can use the following information to gain access:
– A transaction ID for any upgrades purchased for the account: https://en.support.wordpress.com/transaction-id/
– The account activation link which we sent to your email when you first registered. You can use this information in the account recovery form: https://en.support.wordpress.com/account-recovery/
If you aren’t able to provide the original email, transaction ID or account activation link, it isn’t possible to recover the account.
WordPress has strict policies to protect its users from third parties who might be trying to access users’ accounts.
All the best.

Hi there,
If you remember the username of that account you can use that instead of the email in the password reset form and then check every email address you have access to for the reset email.
