Recovering a website

  Hi,

  I exported a website aayjay.wordpress.com before deleting it since my blog had some personal information about my family. When I created a new site findingthestraightpath.wordpress.com to recover the content from the .zip file, only the posts have been restored but the media content is missing. I checked and noticed that the website aayjay.wordpress.com can still not be used as a name so perhaps the media is still there. Is there a chance that I could recover the media?

  Hi AJ

  To import the media, WordPress requires that the old site is still available. Since you deleted it, it is not possible to retrieve the media files.

  Although it is not possible to recover a deleted site , you can try to get in touch with WordPress.com staff to see if they can do something for you. In order to do that, please tag this topic as “modlook”, here on the sidebar ->

  I’m afraid there is nothing that can be done. The media is gone.
