Recovering a WordPress Site

  Help! I was lured away to Wix and am devastated! They promised that I could simply point my wordpress site to my new Wix site, which turned out to be a complete scam. Now they are telling me that the only way to recover all of my work is through you. I am at your mercy! I promise to be more faithful if you will please take me back and help me recover hours and hours of research and writing!

  What is the URL of the site you had running on the wordpress.com platform as it seems your account cherylcprague doens’t have a site running on the wordpress.com platform.

  Hi there,

  Can you tell me the URL of the WordPress site you’re trying to recover?

  The account you used to create this forum thread has been inactive for five years, and has never owned any sites with us.

  Is it possible that you were using the open source version of WordPress at another hosting provider? If so, that’s who you’ll need to contact for help with this. WordPress.com and WordPress are not the same thing, and we only have control over sites that are hosted on our servers.

  Thank you! Sadly, this one never used our hosting service, but it’s possible you had a copy of WordPress with another host.

  Or, is there any chance the domain name has a typo in it? I wasn’t able to find its DNS history, or any captures on Archive.org.
