Recovering an account
-
Is it possible to have an account reactivated if it has been deleted? I was forced to delete an account due to China’s government censors and police security threats. But I would like to get the articles that I wrote back.
-
Hi there, If it has been less than 30 days, you can respond to the email you received from WPcom following deletion. If the account and/or WPcom website were deleted more than 30 days ago, it will have already been purged from the system and so cannot be recovered.
-
Thank you! After deletion I did not receive an email. My email is (email visible only to moderators and staff). I created a new account already, but I want to retrieve my previous site, or at least the data (the articles I wrote). Is it possible to have this deletion email sent again? Or to recover the website or content?

coreyrwillis.wordpress.com
I made a mistake with the email address. It should be (email visible only to moderators and staff). -
Hi, I can confirm that last address you mentioned was sent an email a few days ago with this title:
“Your user account at WordPress.com has been closed”
Can you search your mail for that, then respond to that email requesting we re-open the account and restore the site?
Your mail server accepted the email, so if you’re not seeing it in your inbox, please check in with the mail provider to recover the email.
We’ll just want to work quickly since we’ll need to restore the account and site before 30 days have passed. After that everything gets purged and is not restorable.

Good morning,
I have responded to the email, however, no response was made. It has been one week. I was thinking this may be because of the holidays? When may my response be acted on?
Best,
Corey -
Hi Corey,
I don’t see any emails in our system from that address.
Please send a new email to passwordhelp at WordPress.com from that address, and let us know here once you’ve done that.

Thanks Macmanx,

If there is anything else I can provide to assist please let me know. Thanks again!

From what email address did you email us? I still don’t see any email support tickets from the email address for the
coreywillis2007account you’re using to post here, nor do I see any emails from the address associated with the closed account. We also don’t have any emails currently in your account recovery queue that appear to be from you.

coreywillis.2007 at qq.com
I have sent quite a few emails, all successfully sent.
There is a period between coreywillis & 2007
-
The original ‘Site “Corey R. Willis” at https://coreyrwillis.wordpress.com deleted’ email sent to me went directly to my email account trash bin (coreywillis.2007 at qq.com). I sent my replies directly from there. Could the response have also been sent to a trash bin on your side?
-
I have relabelled the original emails as “not trash” and sent a new reply to both password help at wordpress AND help at wordpress. I hope this helps.
-
One more thing, I am using a wordpress account I created under my gmail.com email address to post to this forum. I also have a coreywillis.2007 at gmail account (which I am using here). The email used to create the website I am trying to recover is a qq.com email.
-
Could the response have also been sent to a trash bin on your side?
It’s not likely, however, we don’t have any emails from you in our inbox. What I’ve done instead was send you one. If you’ve received it, reply directly there. Otherwise, let me know.
